Feeling the same way all over again

-enjaykayb-
How can you be so sure
Recognising the one at first sight
Am i skeptical or am i right
Only time will tell, only time will tell
Feeling the same way all over again
Feeling like a balloon floating away
Being in no man's land
Where nothing matters, nothing at all
Would it sustain or would it not
Its between you and me
The ball is in my court
What can i say, only time will tell
-mayb-

Christmas

Have you been to Orchard recently, its crazy! The place is packed with people on the streets and seriously they are just on the streets. People just hang around Orchard Road walking up and down or just standing around. Even in the malls, there are not much people in the shops, but just standing along the corridors. Very interesting...

Hey Mei....

Hey Mei

What do you say?

You and me

Can we play?

This game

Where we can blame

A guy called Cupid

For making us feel this stupid

For making us feel

So alive, so real?

For making us think

Could this be the real deal?

Hey Mei

What do you say?

Should we or should we not

Walk on this wild side?

Can we or can we not

Brighten up this dark night?

Are you ready

To take a chance on me?

Just as I am steady

You get what you see

Hey Mei

What do you say?

I'll be true

Dont wanna mislead

I want your faith, hope and trust

Thats exactly what i need

A lil more on the top

Would certainly be a bonus
A lil less and

I'll have to go back to Cronus

To complain about Cupid

For making me look this stupid..

So Mei

What do you say?

Looking at her

Looking at her reminds me of someone familiar

How lost she felt

The search for an answer

The denial

How many times have we all gone through this

Its better to spend time alone

Pure and innocence

In exchange for a story of deceit

How can it turn so wrong

Why isnt there any repentance

She washes her eyes with tears

Stare blankly into space

Past memories fill her mind

Lots of maybe and what ifs

Trying to find an answer

Trying to get a closure

The simplest thing in life is always the hardest to achieve

Have been pretty tight up at work and head to bed at 10pm every night. Good thing is that I've been pretty consistent in my gym routine, think i should shed some pounds in view of the upcoming festive season. Love the festive decoration along orchard! Its almost end of the year, and i dont think i have achieved any of my new year resolution for 2009.

In the mood to blog

I'm in the mood to blog, many thoughts flooding in, it may be scattered and random but trust me its good :P
Has been sick for the past week, was coughing and sneezing and wasnt able to hit them gym. Not being able to hit the gym made me feel really uncomfortable. I'm no gym freak, as you guys know, but its more of an upkeep session for myself. I dont set any targets for myself, in terms of weight lost, as long as i feel good in what i wear.
So I feel rather uncomfortable or unhealthy for not hitting the gym, so i've decided to come out with a little plan for myself. Plans are only great unless they are executed. So I've plan to wake up early in the morning (5.30am) to go to the gym before i head to work. Would do that at least twice a week during the weekdays. Thats the BIG PLAN!!
Have been rather busy at work due to new responsibilities, really thank God for moving obstacles at work. Its really a challenge to make your work a piece of worship to God, but the result is amazing; you feel more charged and fruitful.
Ailin's wedding is drawing nearer and i still have not got down to complete the emcee script. I would have to get it done tonight. I'm so excited that she is married, I'm so happy for her, her other half is such an amazing person.
I need to get my place packed, maybe i should set up a plan for that... hmmmm sounds like a plan!
My sis is coming over to my place to camp for a few nights, exciting!!!! Its like a sleepover!!!
End of thoughts...... need to start acting......

I love sundays

Its sunday and it has been a long time since i've met up with my sister. After our sunday service, we headed off to this jap place in illumina for lunch. Its liken marche syle, but you take your own orders using an intelligent pen!! The jap place is located on the level before the theatres (located behind the escalators) and yes i cant remeber the name of the place. The food is rather tasty but i wont say its authentic japanese, however the novelty of taking your own order is pretty fun!
After lunch, we attended the Hossan Leong Show. It was 100 mins of laughter, however there were a lot of sponsor promotion during the show, which makes it seem like a variety program instead. I would say there are parts of the program that are pure witty and outright smart. If you are expecting a pure stand up performance liken ellen or russell peters, then you would be in for some disappointment. Think stand up + musical + occassional sponsor advertisements and you would be in for a treat

Phone Ordeal

As you all my know, my LG phone has died on me and I am using a super old Nokia mobile. Decided to get a new phone as I'm pretty ashamed of the Nokia that I'm using. Trust me, you would giggle when you see it too!! So i've decided to get a new phone!!

I'm not a geeky person; aint looking for fantastic specs, just a QWERTY keypad and great camera function at an affordable price. So I have decided on the Samsung Omnia Pro B7320. Well it doesnt have a great camera function, but u cant have it all.

So i decided to purchase the phone online, you cant imagine the amount of time i've spent to try to purchase it online. Think it would be a lot faster if i get it from the shop directly. After about an hour, I finally got to the last portion - to indicate a delivery time. Guess what, they only deliver during office hours from Monday to Friday. You have no idea how irritated i was!!!!! So i didnt get my phone in the end... arghhhh...

Enough about the phone, its been a while since i've blogged. Have been pretty busy with work and catching up with friends and just pure laziness. I've decided to try something new this week, am gonna hit the gym in the morning before work. Not too sure how it will work out though but i would keep you guys updated.

I've to hit the bed now, got to be up at 5.30 to start my newly found regime.

Communication

Do you know why you have 2 ears?

This is so that we would listen twice as much as we talk,
as a fool delights in airing his own opinions.
You cant love what you dont know
You cant be truly loved if you are not truly known
The only way to know or to be known by others is to communicate -
openly, honestly, sincerely and humbly
Only when we humble ourselves, can we see God's grace transforming us

My phone is full of surprises

My wonderful LG phone has died on me. Yup it showed signs of failing, the display was blinking, flipped itself the other way round. However I can still answer calls, just that i have no idea who is calling. So that would be goodbye to my mobile and hello to a spare phone for the moment.

The Writer's Block

Am thinking of blogging about something, but am having the writter's block. Its when you have so much in you, but no idea how to pen it down or get it flowing.
I think in life, there are a few major bases that we need to cover, liken baseball. The first base is Religion, second base is family, third base is career and fourth base is relationship.
Why is religion the first base? Simply because, when all else fails, God wont fail. He is your stronghold and your life is centred around it. I'm not trying to say I'm a staunch Christian, but I try to cover my base.
Second base is family, family is where we grow up in, family is where we are molded, family gives us our sense of belonging. Even a nation is build on a family nucleus. Family is very important to me, I try to spend more time with my family and I just love having family lunches. Even the simplest grocery shopping with my mum can bring a smile to my face :)
Third base is career, here is where we climb up the corporate ladder. Good thing for ladies , we can always take the easy way out and be a housewife. Haha. Career is where we earn our bread and butter and give back to our first and second base
Forth base is relationship, be it friends or significant other half. Friends are those who laugh with you when you are silly, hear you cry over the phone and give you the occassional surprises. Significant other half is the one that you would settle down with and build your own family. The other half may not be the perfect person but is someone whom you can live without. You can never search for that person, that person just come into your life when you least expect it. Thats the beauty of it all.

Fave things

Sometimes the simplest things in life makes you happy. One of such simple things that make my day would be a wonderful breakfast. I feel so "xing fu" when i wake up in the morning to a wonderful breakfast. It may not be spectacular food but just the setting would make a difference. It may be the simplest food, but the company makes it wonderful.

I'm looking forward to my wonderful breakfast this tuesday.... hope it comes true :)

The law of attraction

Ever heard of the law of attraction? I have recently read a book "The Secret" and it revolves round the law of attraction.
In lay man's term, the law of attraction means that you would attract things/people that you are thinking of.

From Wikipedia:
The Law of Attraction claims to have roots in Quantum Physics, although this is dismissed by the scientific community as pseudoscience. According to proponents of this law, thoughts have an energy which attracts whatever it is the person is thinking of. In order to control this energy to one's advantage, proponents state that people must practice four things:

1.Know exactly what you want.
2.Ask the universe for it.
3.Feel, behave and know as if the object of your desire is already yours (visualize).
4.Be open to receive it and let go of (the attachment to) the outcome.

Thinking of what one does not have, they say, manifests itself in not having, while if one abides by these principles, and avoids "negative" thoughts, the universe will manifest a person's desires.

So basically by creating your own reality and by focusing on it, you would get it in the end (dont ask how, it just happens). Isnt that amazing!! We can all just create a belive that we are millionaires, focus all our energy on it and "tada" you are rich!! Yup I am definately exaggerating it, but as you can see I'm rather skeptical about such an idea. However, I must say that such a belief does help one to be more positive and work towards what they want. Its hard to justify such a theory and weigh the results based on pure thoughts or thru own hard work.

I guess if this law does help you, go ahead and create your own reality and focus on it.

My take is pretty straightforward.. know what you want and take steps to work towards it, doesnt matter if there is any attraction or not, you are taking positive steps towards your own goal and that is what matters.

Updates

Yup I havent been updating for like a long long while. Reason being i'm unable to upload picts onto my blog... arggghhh.. understand my pain.

Well I havent been meeting up with any of my cliques thus far, have been caught up with work and heading over to ice cold beer with colleagues to chill.

Pau has left for aussie and i'm beginning to feel the reality of her not being in Singapore and not hearing her voice. But all thanks to facebook and msn, we still keep in touch. Seems like just yesterday that we were in india together. I miss India, I miss walking to school in the cold and heading off for ice cream after lab.

Well my indian boy is still in reservist, yup we had a huge quarrel and yes I'm not sure what my decision is with regards to the way forward. He would be out in another week or so, i'll make sure he makes up for his mistake. Realise how revengeful I can be.

The first for everything..... pregnancy test kit

There is a first for eveything and yes i'm gonna share on my first contact with a pregnancy test kit. Well dont get too excited, its not me who is pregnant, i'm not even married yet!! Yup so my lab rat for this little experiment of mine is none other than... MY SISTER.

Yup as most of you guys know, my sis got married last year and the natural question that people would ask next is... "Are you pregnant?" Personally, I feel that it can be pretty stressful, its not something that you can control and women are actually in pain when you talk about pregnancy.

Well, so my sis suspected that she may be pregnant, so we decided to check it out using the pregnancy test kit.

So off we went to watsons and we had no idea where to find the kit. We searched high and low and after a good 5 mins, we decided to ask the counter lady. So i spoke in my normal voice and asked " Where can i find the pregnancy kit?" My sis looked at me and signalled that i should be more discreet. Ultimately we got our directions to where the kit was located. Since it was my first time buying it, I decided to examine all the different types and which is the most value for money. I was oblivious to the fact that I was suppose to just grab one and run (as seen on tv).

So off we went to test it out, i was so anxious waiting for my sis to get out of the loo. Once she was out, we started to examine the kit and validate it against the instructions manual.
According to the instructions,
2 stripes = pregnant
1 stripe = not pregnant
However 1 of the stripes might be fainter than the other (come on, dont give pple hope).

So my sis and I stared at the kit for a good 3 mins, in hope that the fainter stripe may appear some how. I was so tempted to take a pen and draw a stripe. So as you can guess, my sis is not pregnant. I'm kinda disappointed, but had lots of fun playing with the pregnancy test kit. I'm more experienced now :)

Sunday Funday

An exciting sunday we had as a family. Headed to the museum with mummy after church to catch the Christian Lacroix exhibition. Splendid coustumes and amazing setup. The museum has indeed changed a lot since I last visited it when I was a small kid. Love the hanging chandeliers that move to different themes. Going throught the living theaters with mum was a walk down memory lane for mummy. She told me stories about her childhood and explain certain exhibits to me. How wonderful!
After our long walk through the museum, we met up with my sis and bro-in-law for lunch at Golden Peony at Conrad. The dim sum were unique and yummy. One of the longest lunche we had and its a great way to spend the afternoon.
What can be better after lunch.... SHOPPING! Well my sis did the shopping, mum and i did our nails. Has been a long time since we went for mani and pedicure. My feet are finally getting their well deserve treatment :)
Start of a new week.....steps of faith.

I'm gonna miss you

Best quality

It dawned upon me that I have extreme patience and choose to see the good in every issue. I am no longer that impulsive and decisive as before.
Wonder have I lost my best quality or found my best quality.
Guess I'm more level headed and just want to be better.
We learn to cherish only when we have lost.
We learn to smile only when we have cried.

random thoughts about taking a trip

What does a trip means to u?
Renewal
Relaxation
Freedom
Fun
Reflection
Escapism
Excuse
Things are gonna change, people may change too, u never know what to expect from a trip, u never know whom u are gonna meet, u never know who you would miss when the plane takes off and u start regretting the decisions you make.
Enjoy your trip! Have the end in mind.

Differences

Difference in perception and expectations lead to misunderstanding and probable lost.

Birthday week

Birthday!!! Well my birthday week just past and I'm offically a BIG 24. Woohoo. I have yet to reach the stage of ignoring my age, but have began to just have 1 candle on my cake. Had wonderful celebrations this year, thanks to all u guys :)
Well the weekend before my birthday, my family, neighbourhood girlfriends and weisiong kicked off the celebration.

Had my favourite thai food with mum and jie. Coincidently we were all dressed in black :) My sis bought a Hello Kitty cake for me, so sweet of her. The cake looked so cute and I did feel kinda guilty cutting and eating hello kitty up. Haha.

My neighbourhood girlfriends, Amanda, Ailin and Rox, took time off their busy schedule to put together a night of fun and laughter. We all didnt expect to have such a blast and it reminded us of how we use to spend our time together in JC. You girls are always special to me, even if we meet up once in a while. We had Japanese food at Sushi Teh and headed off to Keppel Bay for TCC and played UNO while we sip on our drinks. You would be amazed how much laughter we derived from a simple game of UNO.

Yup met up with wei siong for lunch at ekogawa for jap food and caught a movie after that. Thanks for taking time off to celebrate my birthday despit your long shift hours. Realized that we didnt even had a photo!

Well on the 22nd, my birthday started off when one of my guy friend, Alvin (not Alvin beng from hall 11) turn up at my void deck at midnight with a ice-cream cake and prezzies! I was surprised, totally had no clue. Thanks Alvin, its very sweet of u to go through such trouble.

Headed off to work as usual in the morning and was looking forward to having dinner with uni gang. Surprise, surprise, my colleagues remembered my birthday and they placed a cake on my table when I was on the phone! Yup kind of a "in-your-face" surprise :)

Well met up with uni gang at Shokudo for dinner, the whole gang turned up for once. Thanks for being filling in my dinner slot at such a last minute notice. Thanks to ame for arranging everything. Yup after dinner, we hanged out at alfresco mcdonalds for cakes and drinks, sounds "atas" right (did i spell that right?) Just when I thought I was about to head home, I had a surprise meet up with Ramesh at holland v, till early in the morning!

I was super tired the next day at work and resort to caffine to keep me awake. Another surprise came in the afternoon. I recieved a HUGE bouquet of 21 pink roses and a box of chocolates at work. Flipped open the card and it was from Ramesh! Thanks for being so sweet and I love the flowers! Its so out of your SOP to do such stuff and you really took me by surprise.

I had a wonderful 24th birthday!

Needless pain

What a friend we have in Jesus

All our sins and grief to bear

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer

O what peace we often forfeit

O what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer

Updates

First time in 4 years that I met up with ame and shu for dinner (minus the rest of the gang). We had a burger king for dinner and we tried the new burger (cant recall the name), but the picture on the poster looks kinda sleazy-a silhouette of a man and woman lying next to each other holding a burger. Well, but the buger taste great! Headed over to Ochacha for green tea desserts and of course took silly pictures with the spoons.

Well my housewife instincts are back to haunt me once again, so I have decided to sart baking from the scratch. No more premix. Well the chocolate cake turned out a little too black according to my guinea pigs, but it was moist and very chocolaty!! yummy.

Beauty and Culture

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
The above is a very common phrase that we often use to console girls when they fail to attract the opposite sex. Well all of us have different perception of beauty and our culture/environment affects our perception. Imagine if everyone around you tells you that an object which you find ugly is beautiful, how would you feel? You would first doubt their standards and through time conform to the thinking of the majority.
Talking about culture, chinese definately do prefer the tall and slender prototype while indians prefer the curvy prototype. Well looking at my above hypothesis, I know who are my target audience... hahhaha... Yup chances of me getting an indian bf seems a lot higher than that of a chinese bf.
(Realise that I'm trying to be as scientific and theoretical as I can be.)

Nonchalant

Sometimes i choose to be nonchalant about the things that are happening around me, nonchalant about people that come and go into my life.
The process of being nonchalant actually helps one to cope with the torture of excessive thinking. Humans tend to use our brain power in areas that doesnt add value to our life. For example, we put a lot of thought into lost love, lost money and lost opportunities. No doubt its good to learn from our mistakes, but what is lost is lost. Instead of dwelling on the past and self pity, one should use more brain power to device a plan for the future. But more often than not, one's mind wanders into the past whenever one is alone and esp in the night.
I am no exception to wasting a good portion of my brain power to wonder about the past and what could have been done.
I am so lazy that I have resorted to listening to the bible instead of reading it.
